When asked how hard she was willing to work, her response was “I will do whatever it takes.” So, Caelan started slow, working on activities with Sal in the studio and on her own including a daily stretching program. As her knee improved, so did her confidence as she was willing to progress to More functional activities then jumping and plyometric exercises.
It snowballed from there—the better her knee felt, the harder she worked. An hour was not enough for her so she asked for more exercises to do on her own. Soccer became a more “normalized” activity again and after a while, she felt like the player she was prior to her injury.
Here is Calean in her own words discussing the process and tough journey of getting back to form....
"I would say the hardest part about the experience was staying motivated and trying to ignore the frustration. Often times when I wasn't seeing the results i wanted to i would get so angry with myself but through months of working with Sal at Innovative fitness, coupled with weekly soccer practices, my knee has returned to normal. Sal's expertise in soccer and physical therapy provided the training that I needed to move forward. Sal pushed me appropriately, this training helped me gain back my muscle tone and strength. Although it's normal for me to have some pain when the temperature gets low or after an intense workout, the pain goes away and my knee feels normal again. I'm happy to say that I can now work out, run and play soccer with no problems regarding the knee! 1 1/2 years later, I feel great!"
As one can see with the help of Innovative trainer, soccer coach and physical therapist Sal Penta along with Caelan's extreme determination she has been able to return to soccer form!
Calean will receive 2 free strength and conditioning sessions and other cool Innovative swag for her tremendous efforts! Congrats and we wish you continued success and development!
